Our goal for investing in the marketplace is client wealth maximization. We strive to dramatically increase our investors’ odds for success in investments through our extensive training and the time we devote to the portfolio management activity.
We anticipate changes in fundamental trends in financial markets, maintain a historical perspective, and are cognizant of the business cycle and Federal Reserve policy and their impact on security prices. We assume a long-term horizon for investment decision-making. We employ a series of disciplines – qualitative and quantitative, to seek out basic market values utilizing comprehensive fundamental, technical, and economic analyses.
We pursue dynamic strategies to analyze markets from top down and bottom up perspectives. We structure portfolios to minimize transaction costs through Best Trade Execution, minimize market risk, provide growth and reasonable current income, and emphasize a long-term perspective. We design programs for investing that provide results best for the investor within realistic limits of capital markets.
We educate our investors about their goals, risk tolerance, psychographics, demographics, liquidity needs, time horizon, and tax constraints. This increases our investors’ confidence in their investments and our management skills. Clients rest assured knowing that their money is being managed by highly qualified and competent professionals.
Based on our thoughtful and insightful research, we pursue an active multi-asset Total Portfolio-Total Return policy to maximize portfolio returns through a judicious combination of asset allocation, asset mix, equity style selection, and security selection. These are carefully and effectively custom tailored for individual needs and constraints along with sound decisions and strategic investment tactics.
In addition to managing money, we manage relationships. We recognize the need for our clients to consult us any time they wish at their convenience, or trade with ease and maximum liquidity. We are locally established and available in person.

Q. What is the minimum dollar amount you will accept?
There is no specific dollar amount, but our minimum annual fee is $500. This would translate into 1% on a $50,000 account.
Q. Do I participate in investment decisions?
A choice of two investment programs is available:
I. Discretionary Account – all investments are made by the advisors
II. Non-discretionary account – all recommendations are approved by the client
Q. Does Petronio & Varshney Investment Management hold my cash or securities?
No, each client may elect to maintain possession of his or her securities, establish an agency-custodian relationship with a commercial bank, or place their securities and/or cash with a brokerage firm to be held in safekeeping. When the client places cash/securities with a bank or brokerage firm, they will give us limited power of authority in order to instruct the bank or brokerage firm to buy and sell securities on their behalf and to deduct our fee from their account.
Q. May I add or withdraw from my account at any time?
Yes, simply by notifying us.
Q. Do you receive any income from my account other than your fee?
No, we do not receive any part of the brokerage commissions, participate in underwritings, sell insurance, tax shelter programs, mutual funds, or any products which might have or cause a potential conflict of interests.
Q. Why do I need investment management?
To maximize your wealth. A simple statement but concise. An investment manager should increase dramatically your odds for success in the marketplace because of his extensive training and the time he is willing to devote to this enterprise. Furthermore, decision-making is delegated to professionals allowing you the time and opportunity to maximize your energies in your chosen endeavors.
Q. How are you superior to brokerage houses or other fund managers? Our fee does not exceed 1% of the total investment value, unlike others who charge 3%+ either directly or in the form of wrap fee. We are not like the other sales people who are always trying to sell you “a particular product”, and make money from you, and not for you. Finally, you may sleep better knowing that your money is being managed by highly qualified and competent professionals who know and teach finance.
